                        June - July 2014

o    Extension of the deadline for the submission of Tax Returns and Property Declarations (tax form E9) for fiscal year 2014

The deadline for the submission of Tax Returns by individuals as well as of Tax form E9 (property declaration) is extended until Monday, July 14th, 2014, regardless of the taxpayers’ registration number, in order to achieve their timely submission by all taxpayers.

oNew regulation for Vehicle Registration Taxes of 2014

The owners of private cars, who have already put them at a standstill for 2014, will be able to get back their plates, if they pay the vehicle registration taxes for the remaining months of 2014, according to article 33 of law nr. 4258/2014.

This setting will only apply for this year at the time any interested taxpayer chooses.

oHave you declared your Property at the Land Registry? If not, check the deadlines.

According to the newspaper "Ta Nea", since 2015, two hundred thousand properties will become property of the State, as these have not been yet registered at the older Land Registry programs of 1997 - 1999 (property of “unknown owner”).

As provided by law, real estate which have not been registered in time at the Land Registry (the total time limit for the older programs of 1997 - 1999 is twelve (12) years since the establishment of each Land Registry Office for Greek residents and fourteen (14) for non-residents, while for programs of 2008 the time limit is five (5) years since the establishment of each Land Registry Office for Greek residents and seven (7) years for non - residents), become property of the Greek State.

In this case, the owners can appeal before court, but only in order to claim financial compensation and not to regain their property.

At the same time, the registration for the new phase for cadastral areas in Kozani, Argolida and Arcadia begins from July 7th, 2014.

According to the current planning, registration programs for the cadastral areas of Trikala and Pella will begin during the fall.
