oSubmission of the income tax return for fiscal year 2013 -deadlines

Regarding natural persons, the income tax return must be submitted either in writing or electronically from February 1st to June 30th of the current financial year. The electronic submission of the tax return is mandatory if the taxpayer is performing business or profession or submits his tax return via an authorized accountant.

Legal persons must submit the income tax return within the following deadlines:
a)
from April 1st to April 15th if the company or consortium or society is not obliged to keep accounting books or keeps books of first or second class according to the Code of Books and Records,
b)
until April 15th if the company’s scope of work is the representation or brokering of insurance companies or the insurance brokerage or the banks’ brokerage or representation, or if the company participates in another company or consortium which keeps books of third class according to the Code of Books and Records, provided that it’s accounting period ends within November or December of the previous calendar year,
c)
until May 10th : all domestic s.a. and limited liability companies, companies of public interest, legally established partnerships and their compounds, foreign companies operating in any type as well as any foreign bodies designed to obtain financial benefits, private capital companies, and all foreign legal persons owing property in Greece,
d)
until April 30th :all the non- profit domestic or foreign legal persons governed by public or private law, including all kinds of institutions, for income obtained in the preceding year.

The period for the electronic submission of the declaration of property of individuals (E9) lasts until June 30, 2013, while for legal entities until May 15, 2013.

Individuals, who have on 01.01.2013 lien on property out of city plan or of a settlement, must check electronically until 30.06.2013 their assets, as these appear on the website of the General Secretariat of Information Systems (http: www.gsis.gr ), in order to supplement, modify or finalize them.
Legal persons having on 01.01.2013 lien on property must submit electronically a statement of property until 30.06.2013, which will include their assets as configured on 01.01.2013.

Tax Residence Certificate – new extension
By decision of the under – Secretary of Finance, dated 28.03.2013, the deadline for the submission of the Tax Residence Certificate is extended until June 28th, 2013.

Research for the selling prices of properties
According to a research of the newspaper “ΤΟ ΒΗΜΑ” published on April 2nd, 2013, the selling prices of properties during 2012 were lower compared with these of the previous year.
More specifically, according to data of the real estate agency “REMAX”, the average prices for old property were 13% lower than these during 2011, while for new property were 9% lower.
In Attica, the average prices for old properties dropped 11%, while for new 9%. In Thessaloniki, the descent for old properties was 13% and 11% for new. Elsewhere in Greece, price cuts for old property fluctuated around 18%, while for newly constructed 7%.
During 2012, the interest of buyers focused as in the previous two years, in old houses – apartments, which were sold at lower prices compared with equal new, and in smaller real estate. On the other side, the interest for commercial properties (offices, shops, etc.) and plots / land was limited.
